Journeyman Lineman

The Town of Veedersburg is looking for a Journeyman Lineman to fill a position with the town's electric department, located in Veedersburg, Indiana.  Qualified candidates should meet the following characteristics:
1.       Shall be a certified journeyman lineman
2.       Shall be able to operate all equipment used in the department
3.       Shall work in a safe manner
4.       Shall work under the direction of the superintendent or assistance when working with primary or secondary wiring, maintain existing system, tree trimming or replacing poles.
5.       Shall be able to work in a bucket truck with live-wiring
6.       Shall know how to efficiently use capacitors, substations, transformers, etc
7.       Shall know and follow electric codes
8.       Shall be expected to answer power outage calls when called by the week-end on call person or the council
9.       Shall be able to hookup dead service and secondary wiring
10.     Shall be able to provide manual labor when required in getting any and all jobs done

Instrument and Control/Electrical Technician
Indiana Municipal Power Agency (IMPA), a wholesale electric generating and transmission company serving 61 municipal electric utilities, is looking for  an Instrument and Control/Electrical Technician to fill a position at Whitewater Valley station, a coal-fired, steam generating power plant located in Richmond, Indiana:
The ideal candidate would have a strong background and knowledge base of installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of power generation control systems and electrical equipment. Experience with PLCs, computer systems and software is required. Applicants should have electrical safety knowledge and experience having worked with and in the vicinity of high, medium, and low-voltage electrical equipment.
A minimum of High School diploma with applicable equivalent job related experience in power generation or industrial manufacturing is required, and an Associate’s Degree or higher in electrical studies is preferred.
