Planning and Operations

IMPA's planning and operations staff not only handles the daily operations of the Agency, but assists IMPA member communities with a variety of services as well, such as joint purchasing of distribution items like electric poles and distribution transformers, power quality analysis, metering and rate comparisons. For larger projects such as distribution, substation facility expansion and cost of services studies, IMPA Service Corp can provide individual services.
     Our 24-hour market operations center is always available to ensure the reliable delivery of power to member communities.  Our market operations coordinators monitor loads, make power purchase adjustments, schedule and make transmission arrangements.
     IMPA's operations staff also performs various engineering services, such as transmission and distribution engineering design, project management, system power factor assessments, rate design studies, load profiling and power quality monitoring.  Additional energy efficiency services for member utilities and their customers are also available.
