IMPA Announces Program to Promote Energy Efficiency in Member Communities

Published on 3/1/2011

(Carmel, IN)— The Indiana Municipal Power Agency (IMPA), in cooperation with its 53 member utilities in Indiana and one wholesale power customer in Ohio, recently launched an energy efficiency program that encourages commercial and industrial customers to reduce their energy usage and save money. The IMPA Energy Efficiency program, made available through IMPA and its member utilities, offers qualified customers cash incentives for a variety of energy efficiency measures, including lighting, motors, cooling, and other equipment. Perhaps even more importantly, the proven technology will help customers operate more efficiently once implemented, bringing years of energy saving benefits to local participating businesses.

"The IMPA Energy Efficiency program offered by our member utilities throughout the state can help commercial and industrial customers get the most from their energy dollars by installing proven energy saving technologies," said Raj Rao, President and CEO of IMPA. "We are committed to supporting energy efficiency. This program is just one of the ways we can help our members' customers realize energy savings in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly manner."

Interested commercial and industrial customers should first contact their local municipal utility to obtain a brochure and application form. To apply for a cash incentive, customers must fill out the application form and return it along with the supporting documentation described on the application to IMPA. Currently, cash incentives are offered to qualified commercial and industrial customers in the following areas: energy efficient lighting; motors, fans and drives; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; and refrigeration, food service and controls.

The IMPA Energy Efficiency Program is available to commercial and industrial customers of municipal utilities who are members of the Indiana Municipal Power Agency. For more information about incentives available to businesses in member communities, contact your local electric utility.
