While IMPA is governed by its members, the Agency's operations are overseen by its Senior Management Team and carried out by the Agency's professional and experienced staff.

Jack Alvey – President and Chief Executive OfficerJackAlvey.jpg
Jack Alvey was named President and Chief Executive Officer of IMPA in February 2022 by the Agency's Board of Commissioners.  He succeeded Raj Rao in the role in April.  He previously served as IMPA's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for IMPA’s generation operations, electrical facilities, communication facilities, maintenance, safety, environmental compliance, and North American Electric Reliability Council compliance.  Mr. Alvey joined IMPA in 1992 as a combustion turbine operator/technician and has been with the Agency for 30 years, also holding positions as Senior Vice President - Generation, Senior Combustion Turbine Operator, Manager of Generation Operations and Director of Generation Operations for IMPA.  Mr. Alvey served in the United States Navy’s nuclear power field prior to entering the public power industry.  He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from IU Kelley School of Business as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University.

Chris Rettig joined IMPA in 2000.  He is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the Agency's Accounting, Rates and Billing, and Member Services departments.  Prior to joining IMPA, Mr. Rettig worked for Roche Diagnostics Corporation for five years and the accounting firms of Baird, Kurtz & Dobson (formerly Geo. S. Olive & Co.) and Baden, Gage and Schroeder for eleven years.  Mr. Rettig holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Butler University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Economics from Ball State University. Mr. Rettig is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Indiana. 






Joe Schmidt – Executive Vice President, Electrical Engineering and Generation
Joseph Schmidt joined IMPA in 2005. He serves as Executive Vice President, Electrical Engineering and Generation, supervising IMPA’s generation operations, electrical engineering department, and IMPA Service Corp, which provides engineering and distribution services to IMPA members. Prior to joining IMPA, Mr. Schmidt worked for six years with Power Test LLC. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Butler University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Messiah College. Mr. Schmidt is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana.

 






Kyle Brouillette – Senior Vice President, Market Operations and PlanningKyle-Brouillette.jpg
Kyle Brouillette has been with IMPA since 2010, when he joined the Agency as a Market Operations Analyst. He currently holds the role of Senior Vice President, Market Operations and Planning, and had previously served as Director of Market Operations and Vice President of Market Operations for the Agency. Mr. Brouillette oversees IMPA’s resource planning and market operations. Prior to joining IMPA, he worked for Raytheon Technical Services as a Mechanical Engineer. Mr. Brouillette holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, and an MBA from the IU Kelley School of Business.

Peter Prettyman joined IMPA in 2014 as Vice President and Staff Counsel.  Prior to joining IMPA, Mr. Prettyman was employed as a litigation attorney with Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP in Indianapolis.  In his role with IMPA, Prettyman assists the Agency in its legal, regulatory and business activities.  Mr. Prettyman earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he graduated with honors.  He holds a B.A. from Vanguard University of Southern California.
