Indiana Municipal Power Agency president & CEO receives leadership and managerial excellence award

Austin, Texas, June 11, 2019 — Raj Rao, President & CEO at Indiana Municipal Power Agency, received the Mark Crisson Leadership and Managerial Excellence Award at the American Public Power Association’s national conference in Austin, Texas. This Award recognizes managers at a utility, joint action agency, or state or regional association who steer their organizations to new levels of excellence, lead by example, and inspire staff to
do better.

Rao has been the president and CEO of Indiana Municipal Power Agency for 34 years. He has been active with the American Public Power Association since 1982. Under Rao’s leadership, IMPA has extended power supply resources to several new public power communities, energized twenty solar parks in member communities, completed construction of a new conference center, and hosted safety and training programs for members. He demands excellent customer service, high-level expertise, hard work, and creative thinking. Rao expects the best of his employees and raises the bar for performance at every opportunity.
