The Whitley County Economic Development Corp. says the new equipment will be used for additional processing capabilities, logistical distribution and information technology. DOT manufactures specialty coatings and surface treatments for medical devices.

 

"Growth has been occurring here at DOT America even faster than we expected.," DOT America Chief Executive Officer Michael Venturini said in a news release. "There has been a real need for our capabilities in the area and in the industry as a whole. This growth could not be achieved without the support of the City of Columbia City and the great people here in Whitley County."

 

The company plans to add five jobs to its current staff of 17 once the project is complete.

 

The subsidiary of Germany-based DOT GmbH announced it would establish operations in Columbia City in 2014. The company cut the ribbon on the more than 17,000 square-foot facility in September 2015.
